Dear Friends,
It is a real pleasure to give you the skinny on our next Murder Mystery cruise which will be to the Caribbean. We depart Tampa, Florida, on March 21, 2010. I choose this particular itinerary for a very specific reason. Those of you who have cruised the Caribbean as have I many times, may have reached the conclusion that while St. Thomas, San Juan, St. Maarten are truly wonderful places, how many times do we want to go there? On this cruise there are 2 ports that I would be willing to gamble that you have never visited. They are Puerto Cortes, Honduras and Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala. These are newer ports that have not been inundated with cruise ships as they undoubtedly will in the coming years. When you come back from this cruise, whether you're a first time cruiser or an old hand at it, you'll be able to talk about a place you've been that's highly unlikely your friends and relatives have visited. With the changes in the rules, this cruise will require you to have a passport.
I have hosted many of the Murder Mystery Cruises, all the creation of Don and Markie Fenwick of Cruiseworks in California. They have always been extraordinarily well received by our guests. If you've done it before, you know you're going to enjoy yourself. Among the folks with us will be several actors and actresses. The detective and his assistant will meet with you on many occasions sharing clues as to who the murderer is. Our murder is one of the regular passengers that has mingled in with our group. Don't try to pump me for information because I have no inside info as to who he or she is. You will be given all manner of clues that will help you sniff out the guilty party. At the end of the cruise the various groups competing will get together and see if they have been able to solve the mystery of who the murderer is. Making our cruise very comfortable from start to finish will be Don and Markie Fenwick. Let me tell you this can be a major help when little difficulties arise. In addition to the regular cruise activities, there will be a Welcome Aboard cocktail party with me, my wife Susan, Don and Markie and our detective friends. I suspect our murderer will be amongst us as well. Our mystery get-togethers never conflict with ports-of-call so don't worry that you will miss out on anything. I tell you candidly now that the likelihood is if you go online you may find a slightly lower cabin cost. The reason for this is simple. Don and Markie have to be on the cruise as well as our detectives and our murder, the cocktail party, the get-togethers, gifts left in your room, all have expense attached to them. The slight difference in price, in my opinion, is well worth it. For this reason, if you do not book through us but through another source, you will not be allowed to participate in our murder mystery group. In addition, we will arrange all of your shore excursions at competitive prices. We're there to help you if there are any difficulties. For those of you that are trying to find a Christmas present for someone who has everything, what a wonderful gift…. a cruise with us and perhaps you too. It's a thoughtful present that will generate memories for a lifetime. And of course how about just giving yourself this great present? If you do elect to give this cruise as a Christmas present, if the recipient is a listener, it would be my pleasure to call them personally and apprise them of your thoughtfulness.
While the option is available for you to book your air arrangements through the cruise line, most find they can get a better deal on their own. Might I recommend Southwest Airlines, Tampa's #1 carrier? There are many daily flights into Tampa from all over the country and one nice thing, at least of this writing, is that Southwest, unlike all the other airlines, does not charge for your checked baggage. I'm sure you will want to bring more then just a carry-on for a 7 day cruise so check them out. I highly recommend that you come in a day before the cruise to alleviate any problems with cancelled or delayed flights, etc. We'd hate for you to miss the ship. We will recommend a hotel should you consider staying the night before that will have transportation from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the cruise terminal and from the terminal back to the airport when the cruise returns.
If you have any specific questions or concerns, my assistant Beth Richards, who has been on our murder mystery cruises, will be very happy to help you. If you feel there is some specific question that only I can answer, leave your number with Beth and I will get back to you personally.
If you are a member of a large group needing at least 10 or more cabins and there is GENUINE INTEREST, maybe a family reunion, I will be more then agreeable, other things being equal, to come into your area for an evening, chatting with these folks to answer any questions or concerns they might have face-to-face and get acquainted. Give Beth a shout and if it's at all possible, I will come out on a weekend and discuss it with your folks
There are many options for accommodations for the physically challenged so please do not let these difficulties dissuade you from traveling with us.
I look forward to meeting all of you and I am confident that this will be the cruise of a lifetime.
Very Cordially,
Bruce H. Williams
